Andy Carrol or Torres

Posted: January 31, 2011 by oliversutton in Uncategorized

I can’t believe it. Seems Liverpool are going to take Chelsea to the cleaners. 50 m for Torres is a shed load of cash but you get pretty much the finished article. A pure number 9, skill, speed and good abilty in the air Torres has to be in the top 10 CF in the world. But 50m, that’s a lot of rubbles to pay for a guy who has zero workrate and throws a strop if he doesn’t like the manager, Drogba anyone.#

SO then theres Carrol, very much a work in progress but what an attitude he has, so big, so strong and the ability to go in fot 30/70′s like he’s the 70. Mental. He has a mean shot and can head well, his mobility has impressed many.

But 35m that’s as much as Villa, the best small CF in the word. January’s gone mad!

Deliberate Car Crash

I’d like to think that I’d have reacted the same way but I think the combination of my small car and already extortionate car insurance costs means I probably wouldn’t.

Local News | Driver thanks man who hit him on purpose | Seattle Times Newspaper

A manager of Boeing’s F22 fighter-jet program, Innes dodged the truck, then looked back to see that the driver was slumped over the wheel. He knew a busy intersection was just ahead, and he had to act fast. Without consulting the passengers in his minivan — “there was no time to take a vote” — Innes kicked into engineer mode.

“Basic physics: If I could get in front of him and let him hit me, the delta difference in speed would just be a few miles an hour, and we could slow down together,” Innes explained.

So he pulled in front of the pickup, allowed it to rear-end his minivan and brought both vehicles safely to a stop in the pull-off lane.

Do Intelligent People Drink More Alcohol? : Discovery News

More intelligent children in both studies grew up to drink alcohol more frequently and in greater quantities than less intelligent children. In the Brits’ case, “very bright” children grew up to consume nearly eight-tenths of a standard deviation more alcohol than their “very dull” cohorts.

Researchers controlled for demographic variables — such as marital status, parents’ education, earnings, childhood social class and more — that may have also affected adult drinking. Still, the findings held true: Smarter kids were drinking more as adults.
